Yes, it is genuinely perpetual. The version you license never stops working. There is no kill-switch, no online activation server that can be revoked, and no time-limited DRM. Even if we ever stopped operating, your installed software would keep running exactly as it does today.
Every license includes one year of free upgrades from the purchase date, so you receive all new versions and features released during that year. After the year you keep using your version for as long as you like, and renewing maintenance to continue receiving updates is entirely optional.
