Bayesian Network Software 2.0-2.4: Faster Analysis and Stronger Reliability

Versions 2.0 through 2.4 expanded user controls, modernized Windows processing, improved chart access, and accelerated calculations for complex Bayesian networks. The releases also concentrated on stability across common workflows, project handling, file operations, and reporting.

Major features 6

  1. Expanded user controls with automatic update checks, delete confirmations, and a “Do not ask again” option.
  2. Enabled the application to run as a 64-bit process on 64-bit Windows.
  3. Added chart context menus for viewing data tables, copying images, and exporting to Excel.
  4. Improved the calculation algorithm so Bayesian networks with complex structures calculate very fast.

Bugs and reliability 15

  1. Resolved crashes and freezes involving dialogs, printing, small windows, third-party assemblies, null values, project closure, and collection modification.
  2. Fixed Windows 11 ARM errors when opening and saving files.
  3. Fixed settings not being reset after closing a project and creating a new one.
  4. Fixed feedback and update access with the older SpiceLogic website, plus special-character JSON API failures that blocked crash reporting.

Bayesian Network Software 1.0-1.11: Workflow, Language, and Stability Gains

From the initial release through v1.11, Bayesian Network Software added practical workflow controls and multi-language support while recurring minor updates focused on refactoring, performance optimization, and stability. The period improved update-notification control, addressed crashes in core workflows, and simplified automatic calculation settings.

  1. Avoided unnecessary save prompts when closing a window if nothing had changed since the last save.
  2. Let users suppress repeat update notifications for a specific version they chose not to install.
  3. Added multi-language support including German, Korean, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Dutch, and Polish.

Bugs and reliability 12

  1. Improved stability by addressing crashes during node creation, application closing, project loading, and other application workflows.
  2. Resolved crashes triggered by Print Preview in the application and Bayesian Inference.
  3. Addressed crashes that could occur when using invalid paths to save or open files.
  4. Corrected an issue preventing users from entering probabilities or other inputs below 0.01.

  1. Removed the Auto Calculate checkbox because automatic calculation was considered the typical expected behavior.
